Though the origins of the day that celebrates fettuccine alfredo are unknown, the history of the dish itself is widely known. Seven years after opening a restaurant in Rome, Alfredo de Lelio introduced an egg noodle dish that utilized a cheese sauce to appease the appetite of his pregnant wife in 1914. Fettuccine alfredo was born. It was an instant success in Italy; however, it wasn't popularized around the world until after WWll. Join Zoe's as we celebrate this yummy food holiday!

In the spring of 1862, about a dozen Union soldiers riding near Piccacho Peak bumped into a group of about 10 Confederate soldiers. They skirmished briefly and parted ways. It was the only Civil War battle fought in Arizona. Each year, hundreds gather in the desert to watch re-enactments of the Battle of Piccacho Pass and the New Mexico battles of Glorieta and Val Verde. This year, the re-enactments will take place March 17-18 at Piccacho Peak State Park. More than 200 re-enactors will camp at the park, bringing their authentic Civil War gear. Mary Lucille, will be one of those, hosting a Civil War fabric shoppe.
